Friends Help Friends Get Deals at DealLocker

Just a few hours after I posed the latest deals on NCIX’s website, I noticed that another deals website was asking for a sponsored review on PayPerPost. After browsing around it for a few minutes, I decided that it is interesting enough to mention it on my blog as a sponsored post.

The ideology behind DealLocker is “friends help friends get deals”, which makes it your standard Web 2.0 social site, except for coupons. Registered users can add coupons and discount codes they found to the website, so others can use them too. By this process they managed to create a huge database of discount codes for major companies such as Dell Computers and GoDaddy, with new deals being added daily. The savings continue when you visit the Deal Locker blog. Every day they post the biggest deals found on the internet, along with a few printable coupons for in-store deals.

The design itself is web2ish and it is much better than that of TechBargains, which I reviewed earlier this week, because it eliminates all the clutter. It might not have all the bells and whistles like the price comparator or RSS feeds, but it is much easier to navigate and you can find what you need faster.

My final thoughts on the website are about their slogan, “friends help friends get deals”, which I think creates a lot of possibilities for promotion on the modern social internet.. Just the word “friends” indicates that this might be a great Facebook application!
