w00t w00t! Score 1 For The Gamers

The #1 word of 2007 as voted by visitors to Merian-Webster’s website is w00t, and so there is a very good chance that it will be added to the official dictionary.. So next time you use the word in your essay, you may be able to just tell your teacher that it is a real word!

Here is the official definition:

1. w00t (interjection)

expressing joy (it could be after a triumph, or for no reason at all); similar in use to the word “yay”
w00t! I won the contest!
